From 31 October 2026, the way MindSpot GP operates in WA will change. This follows WA Primary Health Alliance’s decision to decommission the current MindSpot GP service arrangement as part of changes to its mental health funding priorities.
Importantly, MindSpot will continue to support patients, GPs and health professionals across Australia, including in Western Australia.
What will change from 31 October:
From 31 October, new referrals will go through MindSpot’s national service rather than the current MindSpot GP pathway.
- Fax referrals will no longer be accepted
- MindSpot referrals can be made through the online referral form and secure messaging platform
- Face-to-face services by ORS Psychology will no longer be available
Importantly:
Patients already receiving care through MindSpot GP will continue to be supported through this transition.
MindSpot is a free national digital psychology service, providing confidential psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment online or by phone, with support from qualified mental health clinicians.
MindSpot provides support for anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, chronic pain, sleep difficulties and distress related to chronic health conditions.
- Your patients can still access MindSpot directly at mindspot.org.au, at no cost and without a GP referral or mental health treatment plan.
- You can refer patients to MindSpot’s national service using the online referral form or secure messaging: www.mindspot.org.au/mindspot-gp
