Referrals in WA

In July 2022, PORTS was expanded to become the MindSpot GP service. MindSpot GP builds on and enhances the world-class mental health support that PORTS provides to the people of Western Australia. Under MindSpot GP, patients can now access an increased range of services and treatment options.

MindSpot GP serves a broad range of people from across Australia. For example, the ages of people referred from Western Australian range from 16 to 95 years; 36% are male; 4% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and 16% are unemployed.

Eligibility age
In WA, patients aged 16 years and over can access services from MindSpot GP with a GP referral.

Face-to-face treatment option
In addition to telephone and online based treatment options, patients from WA referred directly by a GP can also access to face-to-face services.

GPs in regional WA
MindSpot GP is excited to announce that GPs based in regional WA can now refer patients directly to this digital mental health service. GPs no longer need to refer via a regional provider, meaning patients can now more easily access the care they need, when they need it.

Peer support with eFriend
Up to fifteen (15) peer support sessions are available to all patients who are undergoing a MindSpot GP Treatment Course and would like the option to have non-clinical support via video or phone. Peer support is offered through our collaboration with ICLA's eFriend program.
