MindSpot is pleased to welcome Katherine Burchfield as Executive Director of MindSpot and Mental Health Services at Macquarie University Health.

MindSpot welcomes Katherine Burchfield as Executive Director

Katherine brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the Australian and international health sectors, spanning health service delivery, digital and integrated care, policy, system reform and consumer engagement.

Her career has included senior executive roles across government, not-for-profit and private healthcare. Before joining MindSpot, Katherine held a senior leadership role at Eli Lilly and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of NPS MedicineWise.

Katherine also held senior leadership roles at Royal Far West, where she led growth and innovation across multidisciplinary health and disability services, including the establishment of Australia’s largest paediatric allied health telecare program. Earlier, as Director of the Integrated Care Branch at the NSW Ministry of Health, she led a broad portfolio of health system reform.

Across these roles, Katherine has built a strong track record of leading complex health services and bringing together evidence, clinical expertise and consumer perspectives to improve how care is designed and delivered.

Her appointment comes at an important time for MindSpot. As digital mental health continues to evolve, so does the opportunity to make evidence-based psychological care more accessible, responsive and better connected to the wider health system.

Since 2012, MindSpot has supported more than 300,000 Australians to access free, confidential and evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment. Katherine will lead the service into its next chapter, building on MindSpot’s longstanding mission to make effective psychological care accessible to people across Australia.

We’re delighted to welcome Katherine to MindSpot and look forward to the leadership, experience and perspective she will bring to the service.
