What is a "chronic physical health condition"?

Chronic physical health conditions are very common in the community – more common than most people realise. They include conditions like:

  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Arthritis
  • Epilepsy
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • Asthma
  • Lupus (SLE)
  • Heart disease
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Endometriosis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • And many more

Research shows that chronic physical conditions can have a profound impact on a person’s mental health. For example, we know that least 50% of Australian adults with chronic conditions struggle with anxiety and depression as a result. That’s why it’s so important to seek out support to help reduce the emotional toll of living with a chronic illness.

What's involved?

The course is free, confidential, and can be completed flexibly in your own time. The goal is to help you improve your emotional wellbeing and quality of life and to maintain your day-to-day activities as much as possible.

  • DIY Guides to help you put these skills into practice
